Best Sushi in the area. One of my favorite places to eat at. As soon as you walk in, you are welcomed, and seated immediately. I've never had to wait. The food is amazing. Most rolls are from $6-10, which is reasonable. They also have a daily special everyday till 2:30...Two rolls, Soup and Salad for 8 bux. I've never been disappointed. Make sure you check the daily special before ordering. My favorite is the Dragon roll.

Disappointing. After one bad experience "eating in" at Sapporo East where the server completely forgot my order while my companions enjoyed their food i decided to give it another try by getting take out. Sushi for $8 a roll when other local restaurants have the same rolls for $4 caused slight agitation upon picking up my sushi. I was hopeful when opening the takeout as the rolls were large and beautifully presented, however, that hope was lost when they fell apart with a touch from my chopstick. i ended up eating only 1/2 my meal as most of the contents ended up in the takeout container.

hugely disappointing in regards to value, service, and meal. i won't be back.

best in town. I do love Sapporo...being that its like 5 min from my house!

Everyone keeps saying it's costly...it's not! maybe around central pa...but the quality is worth it.

I've been to KOI in NYC and their rolls are like $18-$20, where as Sapporo is $6-10. Sapporo is great fish for a good price. don't forget to BYOB...I prefer Pinot :)

Best Sushi in the area. Prior to eating there, we only ate Japanese food at Benehana's which can't come close to this resturaunt. Sapporo's caused us to try other Japanese resturaunts all over. We keep going back to Sapporo's because they are by far---the best!!! Thank you Sapporo's East for showing us how good Sushi and various other dishes can be. We are hooked. I like the BYOB aspect for cutting the cost...the food is a bit costly, but whenever I can afford it, we go there! You get what you pay for.

Great Sushi...Service 50/50. I agree with the other reviews that the sushi is the best in the region. Went there last night and their service was just fair. At first mush attention to get us to place our order. Once we did things were just average in terms of service. Definately would go back again for another try!

Best Sushi in Central PA. In my experience Sapporo East makes the best (and possibly most creative) sushi in the area. Always check the special rolls list before ordering. It will get you into trouble but every roll I've tried on it has been delicious. Their spicy roll options are exactly that--a quality I don't take for granted when dining in this region of the country. Uni is usually available with quail egg upon request. The "cooked food" side of their menu is acceptable but falls short of the quality of their sushi offerings.

Weekend nights are very busy indeed, so I tend to prefer dining on the weekdays. Due to its small size I would not recommend it for groups of more than six on weekdays and four on weekends. Parents, if your children are still in the rowdy stage I recommend against bringing them along on weekends.

Sushi Rocks. I love sushi I highly recommend it to anyone who loves Japanese food. My favorite type of sushi is the Unagi which is really good. However I do think that Sapporo East should have website and if they do they should put there hours on it so people know when there open for business.

The Real Deal. Having visited a majority of the Japanese restaurants in the area, I would have to say that Sapporo East is one of (if not) the best restaurant of its kind in Harrisburg. The sashimi is always fresh. There is no other place that serves "Amaebi" (aka Sweet Shrimp) as well as they do. Although I tend to spend more than I originally plan to, I've always left satisfied with what I've received. I would highly recommend this if you're looking for high quality food and decor.

awesome sushi. I absolutly love this place. It may not be completely authentic but they are definatly creative with their rolls etc... I drive 30 minutes once a week to eat here. Highly recommend!!!
