Tips for Vinny Restaurant Pizza & Subs

The food is terrible, and the service is WORSE!. I went here with my brother, mom, and niece. We were looking forward to good homemade pizza. Instead, we got treated horribly, and my brother got the most disgusting salad ever. It was called "grilled chicken salad" instead, it looked like a tofu salad. The chicken was whiter than white and had gross looking tan pieces of skin on it. The chicken was actually packaged, sent, and cooked in a microwave and dumped on top of my brother's salad. My mom went up to the counter with my brother to ask to return the salad. My brother didn't even touch the salad. The manager screamed at my family, and threw money at my brother. He used fowl language, while a table with a young child and a baby were in earshot. Other customers were looking also.

The pizza crust was dry, but was white as if it wasn't even cooked. I am utterly disgusted, and I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone.

Grat pizza. Love the pizza here. If you like a thin crust and lots of toppings, this is the place to go

Great Subs. The subs here are really good, in a large part due to the awesome bread they use. Definately worth a try, and at a good price too (around $6). I can't comment on the pizza though, as I haven't had it. When I was ordering my sub there the other day, Olympic volleyball was on and I saw Misty May and that other girl beating the Japanese team real bad. Hot. Thats when you know a place is good.

The Best Pizza and Subs in Town!!!!. I'm from out of town, but have been a patron of Genova's for years. They've recently changed their 'doing business as' name to Vinnie Pizza becase it's been their legal name since the beginning. When a tornado took down their old sign, they decided there was no better time to make the legal name official. Being from out of town, I did not know about this, so you can imagine my hesitation when I read the new name. When I walked in the restaurant I was so happy to see the original owners and some of their kids still preparing the pizza, subs and dinners like old times. There is one wonderful change, a grand-daughter has been born and visits the restaurant with her always-smiling mother frequently. In this age, it's extremely refreshing to walk in to a family-owned restaurant; chain restaurants can never offer the character that Vinnie and his family create.

Let's get to the nitty-gritty. Their pizza and subs are to die for! If I was allowed to pick the last meal of my life, it would definitely be either a pepperoni or white pizza AND an Italian or Heart Stopper sub from Vinnie's. YOU HAVE TO TRY THE HEARTSTOPPER SUB, it consists of grilled ham, salami, bacon, steak, turkey, mozzerella and the toppings (lettuce, tomato, etc.) of your choice.

Their meals are great too. My favorite is the lasagna. In fact, every time I visit my parents, who live in Carlisle, they always order a tray of lasagna from Vinnie's for our family meal on Sunday.

Don't leave Carlisle without visiting Vinnie's!
