Great Place to go after a Great Bike ride or Hike!. First off, I need to say that I was in the party mentioned in "Restaurant Rater's" review. This night was the night of St. Patty's Day. The restaurant was very crowded but there was a good vibe in the place. We got our drinks in a reasonable amount of time and the waitress was very nice and explained that it was her first night or she had just started recently. We were having a good time. Restaurant Rater is correct in saying that we had to wait 45min-hour for our food, but we understood why because it was busy and a holiday. When our food came out it was hot and very good. We got the St. Patty's day specials of Corned beef and cabbage and Shepherds Pie and some of their New Zealand Mussells which we've had before. The owner, Barry and his family are all very nice and we really appreciate the fact that they let us park in his parking lot so we could do a bike ride before we ate at 7pm. Please patronize this local, family run gem near Michaux State Forest!

huge disappointment. I was quite disappointed with my experience at the restaurant last evening.

We arrived at 7, to a table for 10. The waitress was quick to greet us and get our drink orders. Even though our party arrived at different times, she was quick to greet all of us and get us drinks. It did not take her long to get our order in either, 7:20 would be my guess. Then the difficulty began.

We waited over an hour for our food. In other cases when I had to wait an unacceptable amount of time for food, which I believe an hour to be, the restaurant offered something for us to munch on, bread or chips or something to at least take our mind off the fact the fact that we had been waiting so long. Cassell's Grille did not. We did not even receive an apology.

When the food arrived over an hour later, I was further disappointed. My crab cake sandwich, about which I had heard good things, had little taste. The lettuce was not very fresh, the bread and the crab cake were both cold. It was not worth the $11.95 price on the menu.

When it was time to pay our checks, again, it took an unacceptable amount of time to get our credit cards and/or change back, I would guess between 15 and 20 minutes.

I would not recommend Cassell's Grille.

Incredible Food. This place has a great deck for summer time. The owner is a very talented cook that we've been frequenting her businesses for the last 20+ years. Her cheese fries should be world famous. The French onion and potato soup are the best anywhere. They are known for their prime rib. We've never had a bad meal there. This is a gem in the Carlisle area that everyone should try. They also have a nice banquet room for private parties. Nolan the bartender is also very talented and known for that in the area.
