In Short
Get greeted by life-sized packages of Reese's peanut butter cups, then make your way to the one of the 10 roller coasters. The park's signature coaster, the SooperdooperLooper, is a one-minute, 45-second ride that has been the park's anchor since the late `70s, and it crosses over the Great Bear, which features S-loops and 124-foot drops. Hersheypark's newest coaster is Storm Runner. This one-of-a-kind coaster will launch you from 0-72 mph in two seconds flat, 18 stories straight up and straight down. That's just the beginning as you'll fly through a 135 foot cobra loop, barrel rolls and a dramatic flying snake dive so fast, you won't know which way is west. Old-school roller coaster fans can ride The Comet, a wooden thriller built in 1946 that features a 96-foot drop.

Hershey Park is a well rounded park with water rides, roller coasters, rides for small kids, and very wholesome entertainment. It is a manageable size. The new Fahrenheit roller coaster had a 90 minute wait on what was an otherwise quite slow day at the park and left us disappointed in what it was compared to the wait. There was no shade for much of that line so be sure to bring lots of sunscreen. Security at this ride for items that have to be left by riders (glasses, cell phones, etc) is very poor as there is just one open set of shelves that another group of riders has access to while you are riding. My daughter had her sunglasses stolen. The park does better at other rides so I am not sure why this is such an oversight here. Storm Chaser is still our favorite. The admission price and food prices are expensive though not out of line with other parks. A day for a family of four for just parking, admission, and food (lunch and one round of snacks and medium drinks - overall food was not very good) cost about $330. That did not include any games, souvenirs, or other expenses.

I have been visiting Hershey Park for 40 years and never tire of it. It is a great place to take friends and family. I travel for work and have visited many parks across the country but Hershey will always be a great park. It's a great size and doesn't take an hour to walk from one end to the other. They have added so many new rides over the years and that has just enhanced the parks mystic. I always try to go once a year. It's easy to get in and out of (parking wise) and the tram runs fairly often. Also, if you get bored with the park, there are other things to do which are close to the park. The Hershey museum, Chocolate World, and the AACA Car Museum. All in all, it's a great place to visit. I can't imagine going any where else!!
