Back to terrible service.
A company holiday luncheon was held at Leeds about 3 years ago and the group was so dissatisfied with the service that they we were hesitant to go back. But we tried again this past fall for a going away luncheon and were pleasantly surprised. So we did not hesitate to book another holiday luncheon.
Well, we had the luncheon yesterday. The first thing problem was that we were not separated by screens from the other diners - this was offered by Leeds' management when I originally made the reservations. So, no privacy. We had 3 rounds of 8 (tables) so this wasn't an enormous group. Somehow my table managed to be half way through the meal before the other 2 tables were served. The bread showed up as we were finishing our lunches. Our desserts arrived well before the others in our group had completed their meals. Refills were hard to come by and in one case the refill was the incorrect beverage. My server was pleasant but that apparently was not the case at another of our tables. Tables seated after us received their meals before we did and were long gone while we were still on the entrees. All in all, we were there for 2 1/2 hours (this was lunch). Many staff members took their desserts to go. We had no complaints with the food, other than a couple small mix-ups) but the service was absolutely appalling.
So, if service isn't a concern - try it. But the quality of the food does not merit tolerating slow and rude service. There is one organization that will never go back, 23 individuals who will not be returning to dine on their own (with dates/others), and it's fair to say that the poor service that accompanied a $600+ lunch will result in a substantial revenue loss down the road.
Worth the trip....Yummy too. When looking for a decent steakhouse back in 2010, the closest one to our hotel was Leeds. My son and I are big steak lovers and we were not disappointed. The place was not loud as some steakhouses tend to be. The steaks were delciious and the service was helpful, friendly and ready to serve as soon as were ready to order. After dinner, the waiter suggested we try something called a Chocolate Fall In cake. It was awesome. Leeds is now a mandatory stop when in the Harrisburg area.
User review by szweitzig. Such a surprise! The food here is phenomenal and the atmosphere is great, very open and spacious. Very nice since you don't feel as if you're sitting on top of another party. The service is also really good.
